Title
Prior Information Notice: PSGW00006 | Army Trainer Capability (ATC) | Army HQ
Description
In accordance with Defence Policy, accreditation is to be sought for all mandatory education and training in order to provide opportunities for military and civilian staff to gain nationally recognised civilian qualifications through the accreditation of education, training and experience. Individual Development Branch (IDev) is the Training Requirement Authority (TRA) for Army Trainer Capability (ATC) and sets the policy and standards for instructor training. The ATC project was initiated to “deliver an enhanced, tailored suite of Army courses supported by an improved, robust and enforced instructor selection, training and development policy” . As part of this project, IDev has directed that ‘valued’ and ‘developmental’ accreditation opportunities should be developed for the Army Trainer community.
The Army trains approximately 3,000 new instructors every year, using centralised training courses delivered by the military on behalf of Army Recruiting and Training Division (ARTD) and followed by supervised work-based learning and regular Continuing Professional Development (CPD). The work-based and CPD element is delivered in a supported environment, using trained supervisors and managed by instructional leaders. To this end, the Army introduced two new Specialist Instructor training courses from April 2013: Army Trainer Supervisor (ATS) and Army Trainer Leader (ATL). The new Army Instructional Techniques (DTTT) course was introduced in April 2014.
DTTT, ATS and ATL courses apply to the entire Army instructional community including Reserves and Civil Servants. DTTT, ATS and ATL are stand-alone courses based on the employment role of the individual.
Knowledgepool is looking to appoint a supplier to deliver the following to it's Client, Army HQ:
- map these new specialist instructor courses to nationally recognised qualifications from Level 3 to Level 7 on the Qualifications and Credit Framework (QCF),
- to develop supplementary training where necessary to support this, and
- to manage and administer the delivery of the resultant awards to students.
